Feb 2019

A brand new event launched by Broken Light Bulb Community Interest Company is being held at Burntwood Library on Saturday 23rd February 10-30.12. The free event for families with children aged 3-9 is being used to highlight the wonderful books created by Midlands author and mum, Loren Aviva Haigh. Loren has written four books all based on her character Amelia, a young black girl. Broken Light Bulb Director Cathy Fellows says ‘We are really excited to launch this free event highlighting local talent and diversity in books. We feel passionately that arts and cultural events should be as accessible as possible and so working with Burntwood library to provide this new event for local families is exactly what Broken Light Bulb are about.’

The event is running for 90 minutes and no booking is necessary, children that attend will be lucky enough to hear a reading by Loren as well as take part in lots of literature-based activities. Margaret Jolley of Broken Light Bulb says ‘This is just the start of some of the community-based events you’ll see from Broken Light Bulb, we are a collective of four women living in Lichfield who want to make a real difference to our locality. We hope that families in Burntwood will enjoy being able to attend our event and meeting with a local children’s author.’
